HELLO

I HAVE A 1987 WINNER BASS BOAT WITH 150HP YAMAHA PRO-V,, IT WILL RUN FOR ABOUT ONLY 10M. WARMS UP THEN STALL OUT EACH TIME. I HAVE CHANGED THE 2 FULE PUMPS ,PLUGS ,WATER PUMP,ONE IGNTION COIL.ALSO BATTERY ARE NOT CHARGING AT 12V. SO I AM REPLACEING THE STATOR AND MAYBE THE COIL PULSER .IT IS IN THE SAME LOCATION.AND IT WILL ONLY MAKE IT A BETTER MOTOR

I had similar symptoms but that was with an inboard. It ended up being the distributor.
How long have you owned this one? Did it run okay last season and this just came out of the blue?
Welcome to net boat talk.

I JUST GOT THIS BOAT THE FORMER OWNER SAID IT NEEDED TURN UP. I LOOK AT THE STATOR AS A TURN UP ITEM.I WILL GET IT RUNING MORE THEN JUST 10 MIN, I AM IN $3,500.00 FOR BOAT TRAILER MOTOR NOT BAD.

Outboards are a different breed. I'm sorry I can't offer much help as to why it only runs 10 minutes then dies. It does sound like you got it for a good price, but I'm concerned that with this problem it needs a little more than a tune up.
