This Islander 40, one of only 30 made, is a Doug Peterson 17,000 lb race/cruiser designed for speed and comfort. She has a fin keel, spade rudder and a large salon with a double quarter berth aft and a great nav station. The interior wood is a very rich mahogany that has been regularly maintained and upgraded to yacht standards. Her upholstery and headliner were replaced in ’02. Islero has virtually everything onboard that is needed for comfort. She comes equipped with refrigeration, inverter, autopilot, GPS, radar, new winches, new standing rigging, new headsail, and many more upgrades too numerous to list. If you're looking for a boat to sail in the Bay or do some Coastal cruising with speed and comfort at a reasonable price, this is the one. Accommodations Forward is a vee berth stateroom with a hanging locker to starboard. Next aft to port is the head with shower and a second hanging locker across to starboard. Continuing aft into the main salon are port and starboard settees, with an outboard pilot berth to port and lockers outboard to starboard with a custom, bulkhead mounted fold down table. Next aft to port is a U-shaped galley. There is a navigation station to starboard followed by a large quarter berth. Centerline steps lead to the cockpit. All upholstery and foam were replaced in 1999. Dark green ultrasuede in the salon, and a green fabric in the quarterberth, master stateroom and pilot berth. Teak and holly sole throughout.
