Fuel Tank Ventilation

Had a boat surveyed and it was recommended to get the fuel tanks off the "flat" surface for ventilation. My question is, what would someone recommend I place them on for ventilation?
Thanks.

Very strange. I've only bought boats that had their original fuel tanks. Sounds like this one is a replacement tank. I've never heard of moving the gas tank for venting. What kind of boat is it you are looking at? What size etc.?

Did the rest of the survey check out as expected?

It is a 30' Baha Cruiser. Sounded strange to me too. I will now have to question whether the tanks are replacements and why. Very confusing.:dizzy2:

Um, ALL my boats, past and present, were on a fully supported flat surface.

The one I have now has two tanks, 165 gallons each, at 6.5 pound per gallon, or 1075 pounds. Last boat had two 210 gallon tanks, 1365 pounds per tank. I want those tanks fully supported and anchored down. Tight.

Your surveyor must be a looney tune.

Are you certain that's what the report says? Or does it spoeak to the actual venting of the inside of the tank? Maybe there's a problem there?
