KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine Group will launch a consumer promotion called the “Spotlight on Savings” sales event to help drive marketing efforts for its dealers, the company reported in a release yesterday.

The promotion offers Yamaha customers a credit of up to $1,500 they can use toward the purchase of merchandise and/or services, based on MSRP, when they buy an eligible new outboard from authorized participating Yamaha dealers. It applies to eligible new Yamaha outboards purchased between May 15, 2008 and June 30, 2008.

Those outboards eligible for the promotion include Yamaha 2.5-350 hp four-stroke outboards and Yamaha 150-300 hp H.P.D.I. outboards only.

“Past ‘Spotlight on Savings’ sales events have been applauded by our dealers,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha division manager, marketing. ”We will once again support our dealers by offering savings for the customer.”

The consumer benefit offered for the purchase of an eligible outboard is a credit based on MSRP towards the purchase of goods and/or services. For example, a customer purchasing an eligible 250 to 350 horsepower outboard would be eligible for a $1,500 credit toward the purchase of goods or services; a customer purchasing an eligible 2.5 through 8 horsepower outboard would be eligible for a $100 credit toward the purchase of goods or services.

“This program really gives our dealers a way to bring customers into the store,” said Barnes. “’Spotlight on Savings’ adds value to the transaction and increases customer goodwill while letting the dealer be the hero.”

To be eligible, outboards must also have been manufactured since April 2005. Any outboards manufactured prior to April 2005 are not eligible. The program is limited to available new stock in dealer inventory. Also, outboards must be new (unused and not previously warranty registered).

This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and/or promotion offered by Yamaha. Additional terms, conditions and procedures apply. The purchaser must reside in the United States. Customers should see their authorized participating Yamaha outboard dealer for complete details.
