Trunk shock

Anyone have a part number for the tunk gas shock on a 2004 SIg 270? Seems like the trunk lid on my boat was damaged by the PO replaced and they put in the wrong shock as it fails to hold up the lid. Lid is too heavy. I replaced the shock before I knew about the damage so all I did was replace a non working shock with another non working shock. I can measure the length but need to know the weight LBS rating for this trunk shock.

"trunk'? Take the one you have to an auto parts store and get a couple rated for a heavier weight. At least you know the length you need.

In the automotive world stay away from the after market ones. They are prone to leak and not hold up as well as the original equipment ones.
Spend the extra money for the good ones, and save cleaning up an oily mess.

If your looking for gas shocks, I would try a marine or RV store. Take the one with you too.

I pulled it off, looked up the part number from attwood and found it was rated at only 10lbs. Ordered one rated at 30lbs and I believe that should fix my issue.
