I've been in awe of the Mighty Mac for years. I bought my 288 Sunsation mid cabin open bow boat an hour south of the Mac. So I had to go up and cross the bridge and take in the sights. Loved it. But wow was the water choppy when I was there. So much rougher than it was for your ride. If you boat there often I'm sure you've seen it rough there also. So beautiful up there.

I have had the pleasure of being under the bridge twice. Once in good seas and the other made me turn back.
I seen a documentary on the area. The bottom configuration and the way the winds blow are what control the waves.
For me there is no other water system in the world that is so diverse as The great lakes and it's tributaries.
