My buddy had a small fire over the winter with the boat covered. All it did was singe the harness and some padding ,but it was caused by his battery operated flashlight. I didnt believe it either till I saw it myself. I leave NO KIND OF BATTERY in a boat anymore.

Brand new rebuilt motor(approx 25 hrs), new crankshaft .customer reports a noise, crank is broken between #1 main bearing and #1 rod journal.Pics to follow.Motor did run with this crack,but dont ask me how.

For those motors that use drain plugs in the block /manifolds may sure you probe the opening with a nail,screw, drill bit, wire, etc. TO MAKE SURE IT DRAINS. just removing the plug and seeing nothing come out DOES NOT mean it dosent contain water that could freeze.
