Safety course is an excellent idea. So is a 4 blade prop. But no rush on that if your 3 blade is working fine. I prefer stainless props but they can sure get expensive.

I have stopped using my boat stereo when just floating. I use a bluetooth speaker. Saves the boat battery and it's portable so I can move it to any part of the boat where I want the tunes. Bought this speaker on amazon and it truly kicks butt. And last all weekend without a charge.

Man, so sorry. That is horrible. Hindsight is 20/20 but I will suggest Triple A, or having roadside assistance added to your vehicle insurance. I believe either could have helped you get on your way the same day.
