2004 Sunesta 242/Bravo3: changing starboard trim cylinder

Hi, everyone, Does anyone have access to a simple video that demonstrates how to replace the starboard trim cylinder, including bleeding the hydraulic lines? I googled this, and all that I've seen are videos for Alphas, etc. I know this is pretty simple, I just want to make sure to cover all...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Hi, Iggy, I tried to access that link, but I was blocked. ;-/ Anyway, I want to find a switch to provide power to my Simrad and a VHF radio. Te Simrad will be part of the NENA2K network.. I believe that I can do it by utilizing the unused wiper switch. I just don't know enough about the...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

OK, fellow boaters. Back at it again after getting my 2004 Sunesta 252 'summer-ized'? I left my last project unfinished after running out of time. I'm still looking for anyone that might be able to tell me if they're familiar with the wiring in the console of this model. I'm looking for a...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

One more power source, however, not switched... I am considering the accessories outlet, which is where I usually plug in my phone charger, conveniently located to the left of the steering wheel. There are two yellow and one red wire:

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Yet, another update, I removed the panel, which contained several switches, one of which said 'Wipers', which I assume is not being used, since I have no wipers. The first image is the back of the panel. I noticed that there are wires attached to it, some of which (purple and yellow) seem to...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Another update... I looked around the helm instrument cluster and noticed that there is a switch to the very right of the steering wheel that is labeled 'wipers'. Since I don't have wipers, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to dedicate this switch to all the electronics (Simrad...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Just a little update... I've installed the NMEA 2K backbone, connected the Simrad to it, but haven't installed the power or the Lowrance sonar (transducer) yet. A post that I read in another forum brought to my attention what I think would be worth considering... "Many boats are rigged with...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

I had Boat Outfitters use Starboard to fabricate five pieces that I will assemble. They will be able to router all the edges that I requested. I will use the existing cupholders to stabilize a 4" x 12" platform that will support the gimbal bracket that supports the Simrad unit. This is a...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

That sounds like an interesting, simple approach, but I'll need to get some measurements to see how it might fit; I'm inclined to think it might be too tall. The unit comes with a mount that is flat on the bottom, which would rest upon the slight curvature of the shelf where the compass sits...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

I'm on the hunt for a fabricator. This will take place during the offseason, of course. ;) I appreciate your insights! (y)(y)

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

This is what my console looks like. I wish I could find a fabricator that could remove the instrument panel and insert a flat panel to maybe flush-mount the NSX, and possibly some other gauges, USB ports, devices, etc.

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Sorry, I found out that Mercury and Lenco products are related to trim control. I'm trying to figure out a new helm console configuration. My unit is an NSX 9". It looks like I'm trying to fit a square peg in a round hole!!! :cautious: It looks like you're pretty skilled at fabrications! (y)(y)

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Just following up on this install... Does anyone have any suggestions for positioning of the transducer on the transom? I want to install the Simrad NSX 9" on the console, but getting a good base for the unit looks challenging! This looks like it will be a real one-off kind of installation...

Installing Simrad NSX/SmartCraft and transducer; 2004 Sunesta 252

Hello, all, I think I have this mostly figured out, but I'd like some suggestions on the installation of the transducer (for the sonar). Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dan
