    Chaparral 290 Oil Pressure Issue

I believe this actually does both in the newer 4.3 OSi-JF: https://www.cecilmarineonline.com/83-95-genuine-volvo-oil-pressure-sensor-3887328-in-stock-ready-to-ship/ It has 3 poles, and when I disconnected it, I no longer got oil pressure to the helm gauges or to my Garmin display and the...

    Chaparral 290 Oil Pressure Issue

Still waiting on the pressure sender to come in. I did manage to find one at the local GM dealership, but the one for auto is aluminum, and has a slightly different electrical connector. I did an oil and filter change as well but the issue remained. Fingers crossed its just this sensor and...

    Chaparral 290 Oil Pressure Issue

Posting this here but also posted on The Hull Truth. More of an FYI for anyone with a similar issue as it was very frustrating for me. Posting this because it's been a total head scratcher for me trying to figure out our issue and I've learned a few things. And hopefully Google bots crawl this...

    Engine oil recommendations?

Both great boats. The new trawler would be great on some long journeys no doubt. 1000+ mile range is awesome. We're based in Vancouver so being able to travel up the coast eventually will be great, next boat. Our Sig has the generator which is nice, but you're right, 2 or 3 nights max. Plus we...

    Engine oil recommendations?

I have a 2008 Signature 290 with twin VP 4.3 OXi's in it. They have around 800 and 1100 hours respectively. Don't burn too much oil since my last change in the spring, less than half a quart on both. I had put in the Synthetic Blend Sierra 25W-40 in it at the time. I think i would be better off...

    Transom seal

Curious, how much that service costs. I'll be having to do the bellows on my drives sometime soon...

NMEA 2000 on older boat - data availability

I have a 2008 with Yacht Device gateway I installed this year. I get oil pressure but had to put it in the config file I believe. I get it for both engines. For Fuel Level, I decided I wouldn't bother hooking the tank sender to my Garmin. I get fuel flow for both engines, and when I fill up, I...
