The problem with Canadian lakes is they freeze and you live in igloos. But the beer and maple syrup is good.

Winterizing ...do you put your boat away full of gas or empty or somewhere in between?

I would stay away from ethanol. It will wash crud out of your tank, straight into the fuel filter, which hopefully catches it. Just not worth the cost savings for me.

    brick’s introduction

My boat garage is 28 ft deep (exterior), and 27 ft clear inside. Boat is 26 ft 6.5 inches long. I have 5 1/2 inches of clearance! Garage door is an 8 footer. Boat just clears with the tower folded. I use a winch mounted to the ceiling beam to raise the tower up partway while stored. brick

Winterizing ...do you put your boat away full of gas or empty or somewhere in between?

We have a nice new big-parking gas station that also has non-ethanol gas. I have been using them for the last couple of years. Prior to that I was forced to use gas with ethanol. I still use green sta-bil, year round. Keeping my boat inside also minimizes the potential for diurnal temp changes...

My boat always has full fuel and stabilizer - year-round. Minimizes condensation, and boat is always ready to head to the lake on a moments notice... brick

    brick’s introduction

New here, but not new to boating. Current boat is a 2005 Chaparral 220SSi 350MAG/MPI B3 2.0 ratio and 24’s. This is my 4th (and favorite) Chaparral over 30 years. I keep my boat at home in the garage, so lots of towing miles. We are empty-nesters, so our boating life has changed. COVID has not...

How old is your tow vehicle?

West Point Lake, on the Georgia/Alabama line. About 1 hour, driveway to launch ramp, and is our primary lake. It’s about 15 miles long, and does not have the heavy weekend boat traffic that other lakes in the Atlanta area endure. You can always find a quiet cove or smooth bay for water sports...
