New guy from Colorado but not new to boats- 1st was a 95 Bayliner 1950 Capri- ran it for about 4 years then traded it off for a Harley.
2nd boat was a 2006 Larson 190 SEI, traded a different Harley for it
Ran it for a couple years then traded it off for a pair of Quads- fouled up my back a year later so off went the quads.
Fast forward to last June, I made the wise decision that we needed a boat- kids are grown but now there are grandkids and my niece has a daughter so we thought a bit of water time would be good.
I found a 99 Crownline 202 BR on FBM with a new 5.7 Merc for a good price and snagged it- spent a couple weekends cleaning it up and took her out- great running boat but a bit small for the family plus it is a bit rougher ride than we care for when you encounter chop. Also with a 5 year old accidentally mashing a PB&J sandwich into the carpet I realized the need for a larger boat with full ‘glass liner & snap in carpet. And when we beached it being 60 now climbing into a beached boat isn’t as easy as it used to be.
So we needed a different boat
I went back to FBM and found a 2007 Chaparral 236 SSI 350 MAG & Bravo 3 with 250 hours on it from the original owner for a good price
So now I’m really stupid and own 2 boats! The Crownline will get sold come springtime.
