Been out of a boat for 15 years and just got back into it. Glad to be here and meeting some here that have way more experience than I have..Purchased a 2004 chaparral 20’ sis with 5.0.
Just got it out this past weekend and was a blast for most of the day until it needed to get it back on the trailer.
Took a few shots to get it on there as the wind was blowing and the water was a bit rough. Forgot how tough it could be
Just getting it back on the trailer..

Welcome aboard. Once you figure out how far you need to back your trailer into the water, it will get a lot easier. Keep practicing, you'll get the hang of it.

Yea that was the issue as I had the trailer in the water to far.. I have a “boat 2 trailer” hitch that I need to install and hope that makes it a bit easier next time..

No idea what a boat to trailer hitch is.
But as a general rule of thumb just back your trailer in until the wheel fenders are barely above water. Just the front tip of the fenders. Usually works like a charm from my experience.

Doc has it right, that will be a good starting point. That is how I do mine. My fender tips are about even or about 1/2 in. under the water. Do you have bunks or rollers?

Trailer has rollers, “boat to trailer” is some what like a semi hitch pad. I’ll post a picture later today. Heading out to go fishing with my grandson, in my other boat of course..on another note he always out fishes me..
