    99 sunesta 233 speedo issue

Since the new pitot probe was installed several years ago, I've been lucky with my speed indications. At 2900rpm and properly trimmed, I'll reach 30mph which is backed up by GPS at 30mph. The only time they vary in indications is boating in the Niagara River. Strong current. I am fortunate to...

    1999 Chaparral 2135 SS

If I shift in any direction too many times rapidly it will not lock into place. It'll skip over everything. Doesn't matter which way I'm shifting. I have not operated the boat with the cover off. One of these days, I'll have to do that and watch what happens. BTW....what are the wires...

    Look what I found!

Actually it found me. I am anchored out in Lake Erie. Been here a couple of hours. Wind picks up a bit and as I’m observing wave height, I see this “stick” in the water and coming straight at me. After damaging my outdrive 10 years ago by hitting something, I decided to pull this out and...

Just about ready to shift out into Lake Erie. Here’s a pic of my throttle. Neutral

    1999 Chaparral 2135 SS

The whole shifter assembly is still properly attached to the boat frame. The word sliding is meant to mean the throttle handle is moving freely and not clicking into place and no change in the outdrive. For example, If the outdrive is in reverse and the throttle handle is moved to neutral or...

    1999 Chaparral 2135 SS

As I've stated here many times, my Alpha One and the shifter do not like rapid shifting between Forward, Neutral and Reverse. With the new slip that I had this season, it caused me to shift quickly to keep control of the boat. It didn't take long for the shifter to start sliding around and not...

Another medical delay in launching this season

I always wondered how you operated on the Ohio River. The Niagara River is pretty short compared to the Ohio but it also likes to transfer a lot of junk from Lake Erie. After significant storms and run off, I'll generally stay in the slip as there are several feeder creeks and rivers that like...

Another medical delay in launching this season

Update: Feeling better, I finally decided to bring the boat home and start working on it. I sat and looked at the boat not wanting to crawl around while applying the bottom treatment but I forced myself to get going. I decided not to lift the boat to get at the areas of the bunks. Too much work...

What do you tow your Boat with?

I don't know if it's an optical illusion but your tire on the rear axle appears to be pretty close to the finder. My though on this is that if you hit a nasty bump, that could cause the fender and tire to meet which will then chew it to pieces. I had this happen last year. I also updated the...

    Bunk trailer Rollers

The original owner to my boat long ago never cleaned the bottom where it sat on the bunks. Even after I started cleaning the whole bottom, it took a long time to get it equally clean to the rest of the boat. I learned from another Chap owner from the previous forum on how to jack the boat up...

    Bunk trailer Rollers

My trailer is similar to yours. One roller up front and one at the back end. 2 bunks each side of center. I like the bunks because I can launch and retrieve without worrying about the boat sliding off the trailer. The only problem I have with bunks is cleaning and treating the bottom area where...

Another medical delay in launching this season

Doctor just told me I can't ride my bike for 3 months! UGH! haha. Riding my bike is the number one thing I do for exercise. Northwestern PA has some great Rails to Trails bike paths.....Looks like I'll be delayed. I could do some walking on them of course but I'm not in favor of that. But...

Another medical delay in launching this season

Oh yeah. Now that I’m on my feet and nice weather returns, I can get out side and start walking. Just being home makes all the difference.

Another medical delay in launching this season

Well, the past couple of days have been kinda bumpy. Back to the ER a couple of times. Fortunately that issue has been resolved and I’m home. Catheter has been removed and I seem to have retained control. Which was worrisome. For now, it’s just a slow path for the incisions to heal.

That’s what I’m gambling on. A reasonably lengthy summer.

Another medical delay in launching this season

Late last year it was discovered that my PSA went over the limit…4.5. After further testing they found cancer in the prostate gland. I just had robotic surgery with total removal and now in recovery mode. Definitely no fun at all. Anticipating a somewhat long recovery I called my storage guy...

    My Girl, Show & Tell

At my dad’s cottage along Lake Erie in Canada was the same policy. Wash in the lake. But they did have an indoor shower. Heavy duty sulfur stink. Eventually they got various filters which made it tolerable.

Yeah buffets are phenomenal, and it takes immense discipline to not go crazy. You just finished knee replacement.....you don't want to go through heart valve replacement. Behave young man! BTW...nice beach pictures. I haven't been on a nice beach since last year.
