If the switch totally is removed from the wiring, then they are getting their power from another wire that is powered by that same breaker. Can you trace the wiring from the fans back to the breaker? Do you have a test light? I am no electrician, this the only way that I know how to troubleshoot.

To me it sounds like it maybe the switch. I would bypass the switch. It could be that the contacts are stuck in the on position.

I did not know that they made a 12 V that big. Mine is 110 V, that is one of the reasons I added an inverter. Does it tell the amp draw?

Probably because they had no other place to put them. :) That is what they will tell you in the automotive industry.

My guess would be a short circuit in the pump. If it were mine I would replace it.
