Hey guys - I recently purchased an 2007 Chaparral 256 SSX that was missing the port side vent cover (Part # 088A). I haven't had any luck locating a new one online and I was hoping a fellow boater would be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help/leads!

Your girl 18 yrs. Did you try Cecil Marine? Or any other dealers. I do not know if Chap will be able to tell you who supplied it for them when it was made. Another place to look is boat salvage yards. If it were me, I would start with the southern yards on the East Coast, where the hurricanes were.
Good luck.

Maybe one of the dealers might have one in old inventory stuck on a shelf somewhere, I have experienced that kind of thing before.

Make your own?

So far, my boat doesn't leak...dry as a desert. But, when it rains, the rain water comes in through my vents and will put a large amount of rain water into the engine compartment for which then I have to wetvac it out. To prevent that, I made my own. I just took black pool cover plastic and cut it to size, put gorilla tape all around it to support it, then punched a few holes in it to match the boat cover snaps and I'm covered. Only in high winds and heavy rain does a little bit get in. It made a big difference.
