2017 227 SSX - Instrument Cluster INOP

I've inherited the upkeep of my late dad's Chaparral. The latest issue is the instrument cluster in unresponsive, i.e. no power. The owners manual is proving less than helpful in providing any details, like the location of fuses or breakers.

Troubleshooting so far. By the master battery switch there is a helm switch and a couple of breakers, nothing popped. Under the instrument panel is a black box with a dozen or so breakers, same. Checked the fuses on the MerCruiser engine, none blown. Quick check of the wiring harness and all connections appear to be in place.

Anyone have input or have had this issue?

Have you tried testing the circuits with a test light? Do you have power to the ignition?

Power to the boat in general is functioning, engine turns over, etc. Just the 4 instruments at the helm do not power up. On my to-do list is the check power coming to the instrument cluster. Need to determine which wires provide power and ground.

On my old girl in the instrument panel the red, blue, purple are used as power lines, and black is ground. You can find this out by using a positive- negative test light.

Last year my panel went dark. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the shifter as the panel usually blinks when I shift. I can't remember if the mechanic looked at it or if it just fixed itself. It still blinks but no outage.
