The protection on this boat may not be because of his poor docking but because of other boaters poor docking. I picked my dock because the wind will almost always rescue me and blow me into the dock finger. But the other guy next to me, under the same winds, will get blown into me if he loses control. I have seen other boaters not even try to keep their boats separated and just let the their boat bump into the neighbor.

So far, I've been lucky.
