Broken starboard side windshield panel 2002 Signature 300

I have a really big problem now. Hoping someone might be able to offer some advice on what to do.
The drivers side windshield on our 2002 Chaparral Signature 300 got broken. I've tried every glass installer and authorized Chaparral boat dealer in my area and either they don't know what to tell me or they tell me it's nearly impossible to get it fixed. I went to the used Chaparral parts dealers and had no luck there either. Of course the piece that broke was curved glass so the glass installers don't want to touch it and they tell me that plexiglass is not an option. I found the part numbers for the pieces I need from an online 2003 Signature 300 PDF parts manual but beyond that I am at a standstill. I don't even know if taking the whole windshield off and trying to find a replacement that will work is an option. The dealers make it sound impossible to fix so what do boat owners do when they end up with a broken or badly cracked windshield?? The pic below is of a 2003 Signature 300 but the windshield is the same. Chaparral (at least to me) seems to discontinue parts avaliability for their older boats within a short span of time. Glass was from originally from Taylor Made.

Has anyone else here had this problem and is there a solution.
