Long time boat owner and boater but been away for about 10 years. Glad there is another option for us Chaparral folks since that forum is basically DOA. Soon to be an owner again and looking forward to learning and sharing. Thanks!

I run the Detroit & St. Clair Rivers, with 23ft Chap ( not counting the swim platform as they do with the boats today) with no issues. The nice thing about running riveres is that you can always find a place to quickly hide, even if it means beaching her for safety. When I run Lake Erie, I watch the ski constantly, 5 miles off shore you have nowhere to hide. In my past experience, if it feels like someone opened the refrigerator door on you, you have about 20 minutes to run and hide. You can take your girl anywhere, just be aware of your surroundings at all times.
