Actually it found me. I am anchored out in Lake Erie. Been here a couple of hours. Wind picks up a bit and as I’m observing wave height, I see this “stick” in the water and coming straight at me. After damaging my outdrive 10 years ago

by hitting something, I decided to pull this out and remove it from the traffic lanes.

Thank you for your efforts. You always have to be on the lookout for those submarines. THe only problem you have at night, is you can't see them.

In the other posting showing me at sunset, you'll take notice that I'm standing up. There was a lot of debris that day. Sharp turns here and there to avoid hitting them. I was very tempted to cruise home yesterday at night. I love boating and flying at night. But on the way down there was lots of debris in the water so I decided to come back early with sunlight. Good thing as I found larger objects coming home which would have destroyed my outdrive.

After dark, personal I would not go faster than 3 to 5 knots. Just for that reason. About 4 or 5 years ago I boat hit a fixed nav buoy in Boston Harbor. One dead and the rest in the hospital. The boat, almost nothing left of it.

At night its very easy to misjudge distance, shapes..... More so, what Denny found.

Yeah, we had one of those a number of years ago in Sandusky Bay by Cedar Point Amusement Park, not sure of the numbers.
