Maiden voyage this past weekend and had an issue 2 times. Went to start it and it would start and as soon as I let go of the key it shut off. Did this a couple times then after a couple try’s it started and ran fine. Any ideas?

I would start simple. Have you changed your fuel filters? Having a 2004 boat, ask your self when was the last time plugs, cap, rotor and wires were changed?

Yes all that has been replaced, I’m thinking it could be the ign switch. Like I said it fires right up but as soon as I let go of the key it stalls like it was shut off..

Yes, you could be loosing ignition power somewhere. As you said,I would try a new switch.
I love shakedown cruises, you will always find something broke somewhere.
33 years and counting. This year, interrupter switch for the shifter went bad.:)
I always go alone, because I have know idea what the ride will bring,or how long I will be out.
