Here is what I found in a search ... from: http://boatspecs.iboats.com/Chaparral_Boats__285_SSi__2004/bp/66b17038

The have drop downs on the site for more specs. Check em out.

2004 Chaparral Boat

The 2004, 285 SSi is a 27.5 foot inboard/outboard boat. The weight of the boat is 7200 lbs. which does not include passengers, aftermarket boating accessories, or fuel.

While this runabout does have a hull made of fiberglass, it is beneficial to keep the boat clean and dry by covering it properly while not in use. Good maintenance and care can help your vessel stay in good condition and have a higher value at resale. Applicable engine information has been included below since a boat needs reliable power.

Information on this page is provided to you as a free service of iboats.com. Because this information has come from many sources we can not guarantee its accuracy. Even if this information is the same as the original factory specs, boats are sometimes modified. Thus, for safety and other reasons, it is a good idea to verify information here to make sure it matches up with your boat. For additional information, we recommend the iboats forums and a boating safety course.

Sorry Doc, thought the title would have given the extra info for my actual question,

I am looking for specs on the waste tank, how many gallons it holds, I have read 20 and 9.5 gallons, quite a difference....

What kind of head does it have?

My Vacuflush is a 20 gallon holding tank. You should be able to look at it and know if it's a 20 gal -vs- a 9.5.

There should be a tag on it that tells you the specs. If the tag is gone. Measure the height, width and length and calculate the volume.
