which trolling motor should i get

i'm new at this boating thing and just bought my very first boat. it's a plastic 11ft jon boat and i'm looking for a trolling motor for it. the boat is 180 lbs, and it can carry up to 1300 lbs. With three people and all the fishing equipments, that's another 500lbs +/- 20lbs. I want a trolling motor that is under $1500 and can still go 5MPH at max speed carrying all the above. Any ideas?

Have you thought about the size battery/s needed vs its time in use? Also recharging?
 
Where will you be using this boat at? When you start adding people and equipment that tend to get crowded, and smaller.
 
i haven't thought about anything other than, i just want a motor that can still take my boat at 5MPH after everything is loaded. but at the same time, i don't want to spend over $1500; i might make an exception if it's under $2000 for everything total and it's my only choice.

will a ELECTRIC troller with 1.5 HP make your boat go faster than a boat with 55 lbs of thrust? 82 lbs of thrust? 112 lbs of thrust?

You need to talk with people that sell boats and motors for a living. They will be able to give you that information.
