Mine is just a simple inline one that I change out every couple of years. I check out the old one to see if it has picked up anything, so far after 33 years, it has always been clean. i It is mounted about 12-18 inches before the separator.

Probably because they had no other place to put them. :) That is what they will tell you in the automotive industry.

My guess would be a short circuit in the pump. If it were mine I would replace it.

On my old girl in the instrument panel the red, blue, purple are used as power lines, and black is ground. You can find this out by using a positive- negative test light.

If you go to a good marine canvas shop they can custom make you one.

Have you checked with a local marine canvas shop?

Have you tried testing the circuits with a test light? Do you have power to the ignition?

Easy way to check that, is to pull the plug while you are still at home. Make sure that there is no water coming out. Remember to put the plug back in. After your day on the water pull the plug, and you will have your answer.

Refer to the videos and take pictures as you go, and you will be fine.
