Some boaters need a little help. Fortunately, I gave the help…not need it. (That’s not me)

Good for you. Kudos.
For me the boating season is over. Thursday I tow my boat to the shop to have it winterized. Sad. One of the worst summers for boating here. I put less than 20 hours on my girl.

Looks like the boat will be coming out today. My boat cover has shrunk about an inch and a half. I can't snap down the stern area so with rain and gusty winds in the immediate future...out it comes. Quite a drop in temps also. Looks like summer is over.....but I said that a couple of weeks ago as well.

You can get some 1" strapping material, cut it to length and put a male snap on one end and a female snap on the other end. That will allow you to secure your cover, at very little cost. I have seen that done on a lot of boats.
If you don't have a snap tool. Make the straps and mark the spots where you want the snaps, and take them to a canvas shop and they can put them in for you. Easy fix, piece of cake. Could make your season a little longer.

Thank Denny. I will definitely look into that. The canvas shop I normally go to guesstimates a new cover for my boat in the area of $2000. That’s a huge chunk of change for me. But will look into the strapping.

Here’s a pic of what the stern cover is doing:

As you can also see the sun has wreaked havoc on the gelcoat.

The end of an amazing day on Lake Erie. The ramps should be empty due to the Football game is about to begin.

This is buoy #2 marking a shoal. 16 feet compared to 40 feet around it.

You could do the same thing with a solid piece of fabric.
It is the nature of the beast, when you have been exposed to mother nature for going on 40 years.
I know what you mean, I was out fishing Friday, you hate to come in when you have days like that.
