You can get some 1" strapping material, cut it to length and put a male snap on one end and a female snap on the other end. That will allow you to secure your cover, at very little cost. I have seen that done on a lot of boats.Looks like the boat will be coming out today. My boat cover has shrunk about an inch and a half. I can't snap down the stern area so with rain and gusty winds in the immediate future...out it comes. Quite a drop in temps also. Looks like summer is over.....but I said that a couple of weeks ago as well.
Thank Denny. I will definitely look into that. The canvas shop I normally go to guesstimates a new cover for my boat in the area of $2000. That’s a huge chunk of change for me. If you don't have a snap tool. Make the straps and mark the spots where you want the snaps, and take them to a canvas shop and they can put them in for you. Easy fix, piece of cake. Could make your season a little longer.
You could do the same thing with a solid piece of fabric.Thank Denny. I will definitely look into that. The canvas shop I normally go to guesstimates a new cover for my boat in the area of $2000. That’s a huge chunk of change for me. But will look into the strapping.
Here’s a pic of what the stern cover is doing:

As you can also see the sun has wreaked havoc on the gelcoat.
