Another medical delay in launching this season

Late last year it was discovered that my PSA went over the limit…4.5. After further testing they found cancer in the prostate gland. I just had robotic surgery with total removal and now in recovery mode. Definitely no fun at all.

Anticipating a somewhat long recovery I called my storage guy and told him it would be early June before I get it. I can’t treat the bottom by climbing around the axles so why bother bringing home. Plus piece of mind not worrying about the neighbor. Real nice guy. 🤧

So, like being in the hospital, I wait.

Ah man. Sorry SST. That sucks. At least you'll be able to get at it in June and have 10 weeks or more of potential time on the water. Best wishes.

That’s what I’m gambling on. A reasonably lengthy summer.

Sorry to hear. Here's hoping for a quick recovery.

My wife is having hip surgery in two weeks with a ~6 month recovery. I foresee a few trips by myself this year but not many...

Quality boat rides over quantity boat rides. Best wishes for you and your wife with a positive recovery.

Not bad. Knee is still tight but it works. Still some pain but not enough to take pain pills. Dr said this is all normal. It's takes a year for the knee replacement pains to go away. Just about half way there. LOL

Great! We use to say no pain no gain. Stay positive.

Wishing everyone a speedy and healthy recovery. As much as I’m sure it hurts the boat will always be there. Take care of yourself and loved ones firsts.

Well, the past couple of days have been kinda bumpy. Back to the ER a couple of times. Fortunately that issue has been resolved and I’m home. Catheter has been removed and I seem to have retained control. Which was worrisome. For now, it’s just a slow path for the incisions to heal.

Get our mine out of your body, get busy with something, stay positive.

At least you are on the right path to healing. :thumb:

Doctor just told me I can't ride my bike for 3 months! UGH! haha. Riding my bike is the number one thing I do for exercise. Northwestern PA has some great Rails to Trails bike paths.....Looks like I'll be delayed. I could do some walking on them of course but I'm not in favor of that.

But I'll also have to get a new seat for the bike. I'll need one that is a bit wider so my but cheeks take the weight instead of a more narrow seat. That Prostate gland sure does a lot more work than just provide "fluids." It also provided some protection to the urethra. Picture the urethra like a sponge full of water. If you don't touch the sponge, no water comes out. But if you bump the urethra [sponge] oops, out comes a couple of drops. Fortunately, it doesn't open the flood gate. I learned this getting out of my truck and sliding over the seat as I stepped down.

So basically, I have to sit, wait and recover for another 2.5 months for the next follow up of which blood work for the PSA will be checked.

I was going to leave the boat in storage but I remembered that NYS Inspection in due in June so I'll have to bring it out. Maybe start slowly applying the bottom treatment and get the kid next door to help with getting around the dual axles.

Glad you are doing better. I remember my old Schwinn bike had a seat about the size of a motorcycle seat. They don't make a seat big enough for me to even think about riding a bike again. Lol
